When purchasing an ultrasonic water meter, a parameter that many users value is the range ratio R value of the ultrasonic water meter. The so-called range ratio is the ratio of the maximum measurement range to the minimum measurement range. In general, the larger the turndown ratio, the lower the measurement accuracy.


Since the turndown ratio can determine the measurement accuracy of the ultrasonic water meter to a certain extent, and the accuracy of the ultrasonic water meter measurement is directly involved in the trade settlement between the water supply and water parties, users will pay special attention to this when purchasing an ultrasonic water meter.


We know that the turndown ratio of the ultrasonic water meter is the ratio of two values (Q3/Q1). Increasing Q3 and reducing Q1 can increase the turndown ratio of the ultrasonic water meter. For ultrasonic water meter manufacturers, it is more difficult to reduce Q1, because it involves many factors such as electronic software and hardware design capabilities, rationality of flow tube structure, sensor performance and stability, etc. If the manufacturer really has the technology to achieve smaller The minimum flow Q1 value indicates that the manufacturer has higher technical strength and guarantees for the above factors. Therefore, for ultrasonic water meters with the same pipe diameter and range ratio, low Q1 (or low Q3) requires more technical strength.


It should be noted that the range ratio R value of individual ultrasonic water meter manufacturers seems to be very high, but it actually raises the Q3 value very high, but the minimum flow Q1 value itself is often not changed much. The lower minimum flow Q1 requirement can charge users for metering and charging, and it can also play a role of "small flow is also metered" or "anti-drip water is not metered", which can effectively reduce the leakage rate.
