What is the difference between an ultrasonic heat meter and an electromagnetic heat meter

Ultrasonic heat meter, a smart meter consisting of a paired temperature sensor, flow sensor and calculator. By processing the temperature difference collected by the sensor and the time difference of the sound wave passing through the fluid, the calculator realizes the accurate measurement of flow, heat or cold capacity, and can provide records and data transmission for various applications of heating or cooling pipelines. There are no moving parts in the measuring tube of the ultrasonic heat meter, the blocking problem is not serious, and there is no special requirement for installation. It can be installed horizontally or vertically to meet the measurement requirements of corrosive heat-carrying fluid.


Electromagnetic heat meter flow sensor has complex structure, cumbersome manufacturing process, high production cost, and can only measure the heat or flow rate of conductive liquid as the heat-carrying fluid. The power consumption of electromagnetic heat meter is relatively higher than that of ultrasonic heat meter. Currently only 220V city electricity can be used for power supply. So far, there are many heat meters that have entered the heat metering market, including ultrasonic heat meters. Electromagnetic heat meters are only used in heating stations, heating stations, heating areas, and general pipelines of heating buildings. It has been installed and used in a small amount from above, and most of the calibers are DN50 to DN500.
